I used to have the same cupholders in several 240 Volvos.  If you can’t fix it with duck tape, it ain’t broke.

Only problem is if you leave it parked in the hot sun, the glue from the tape melts down into that sweet, sweet cloth upholstery and stays until the end of time.

I haven’t done much to it yet, I need to replace the steering wheel as the rubber has broken down and is super sticky. I’d like to find and replace the decals and stuff, but haven’t looked into it much yet, too many other things going on. Here is a photo of it the last time I had it power on.
